Schoolteacher Willi Gallagher is a regular kind of gal in a not-so-regular town. The next-door neighbors read palms and hold seances, and the town investigator haunts her with cryptic riddles. All the education in the world couldn't prepare this teacher for the mysterious things she's about to encounter...

On her way back from a school conference in Austin, a freak blizzard delays Willi Gallagher's train a good two days. And now, she and other passengers, including Native American investigator Quannah Lassiter, are forced to hole up at a nearby inn--and play it safe. But inside, a bigger storm is brewing... someone has been murdered! As Willi investigates, she encounters war-painted warriors come-to-life from old photos, whispering winds, and Quannah's stories of tribal snow snakes. Is it all just Willi's overactive imagination? She'll have to trust her instincts and Quannah's strange visions to narrow down clues to this chilling crime
